Meghan Galbraith Scholarship
Meghan Lee Galbraith was born in Waukegan, IL in 1979. While young, she tinkered with drums then taught herself to play guitar. At age 18 she moved to Chicago and began to write her own music. With encouragement from others, she published the album “Best Shot” under the name Meghan Lee. Not long afterwards, she began performing as frontwoman for the band 8 Inch Betsy, which recorded and toured extensively. She served as a volunteer with Girls Rock! Chicago, enjoying the experience very much. Meghan left this world in 2015, leaving family, many friends and aspiring musicians to carry on.
GR!C created the Meghan Galbraith scholarship in her honor to recognize campers who carry on Meghan's caring attitude and infectious positivity. The Galbraith Family has made it possible for us to offer this special award to two campers each year. With your support, we can honor even more.Donate to Scholarship Fund
